"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" – Einstein would have loved it!
In the popular movie "The Lion, the Witch and the" Wardrobe, CS Lewis created the imaginary land of Narnia, where children are 4 time travel and discover the forces of good and evil, and take a much bigger role in that battle than he had ever dreamed possible.
Set during World War 2, four siblings Lucy, Peter, Susan and Edmund moved to the province because of the bombings in London and begin exploring the big house that is their new temporary home. In a back room of the house is a big closet full of many layers. The younger sister, Lucy, runs in the closet to hide from the other children, and in so doing discovers that the back of the wardrobe is the door to another world called Narnia. In this world is with a faun named Tumnus that lulls to sleep with a lovely melody on his flute. When you return hours later through the closet to his brothers and sister, is that no time has elapsed. Apparently, the time in Narnia is not correlated with time in England. (An idea, by the way, according to Einstein's Theory of Relativity.) His brothers-factly his rebuke when she tells them of his adventure, but she remains convinced that his experience was real. One by one the others also enter, but found this new world of Narnia is not a happy place, but it is locked in the grip of perpetual winter by the magic of an evil queen.
In due course the children, Narnia known as "sons of Adam and daughters of Eve" to know that Aslan, the lion king of the world of Narnia, returns and can help against the witch. But when they learn that one of their own, Edmund, was deceived by the witch and now is really in their service, they need even more help. Aslan is as good as he is powerful, and with him everything is possible. Over time, gives his life in exchange for his release from the White Witch's magic, and then come back to life due to the "deeper magic from before the mists of time. "(wormholes into another dimension?) After much fighting the forces of evil with the help of Aslan and finally defeat the Witch White, the 4 children who would rule the kingdom of Narnia as kings and queens of what seemed like a thousand years before being transferred back to England only to find Once again the children playing in the old house.
Hmmmm. Sounds of something familiar … as has been happening in our world over the past few thousand years.
Well, whatever the case, and leaving aside for a moment the obvious parallels to Christianity, it occurred to me that Einstein would have been the first in line to see the film.
How so?
On the one hand, Einstein, known for his massive knowledge, said "Imagination is more important knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world and all there ever will know and understand. "
In the land of Narnia time was completely uncorrelated with the time in England, which is consistent with Einstein's theory of dilation time. And wormholes that tunnel into distant regions of space and time and black holes and string theory and spacetime curvature … "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe "has it all and more.
Move over, Albert, I'll go with you!
